Today, my team made a run for the border. We needed to get visa logistics taken care of.
That just happened to involve crossing into Burma.
The 4 hour trip there and 4 hours back was definitely interesting with a songtao full of 13 Americans.
We kept ourselves, as well as our Thai driver entertained.
It was absolutely beautiful passing through more rural areas with rice fields and breath taking mountain scenery.
We enjoyed our squatty potty experiences and favorite snacks at 7-11. They are everywhere here!
As I sat in the songtao looking out the window at everything flying by I kept having "just pinch me" moments. I was sitting in a songtao driving through Thailand.
I crossed into a new country today.
I've been more place the last 4 months than I have my entire life.
Never in my wildest dreams could I have seen this one coming.
With so much time on the road the question of "what's next"(after DTS) of course came up more than a few times.
So many hours to think and pray and I still have no idea.
Like the scenery flying by, so has DTS.
Especially outreach.
Never in my wildest dreams did I picture this.
I wouldn't be too happy with myself if I left unanswered questions steal what has been given to me right now.
I have no idea what's next, but with my God leading me I bet you it's more than I can fathom.
Burma,Thanks for the lessons in escaping market vendors, dodging mopeds and the opportunity for another awful official document photo.
Maybe one day we will meet again.
