Lack of PayPal Intelligence

So, God uses our weaknesses to show his power, like all of the time.  Well, let's just say that I am very weak when it comes to my knowledge of PayPal. Dangerous I know, but luckily this time turned out to be in my favor. Back in September or so I did my first fundraiser for my Journey to Germany. I sold raffle tickets to win an iPad. From the beginning God has shown up and I raised a huge amount of support and money, some of this support was done through PayPal. Fast forward to August 9th. I was browsing eBay for any deals on SLR film cameras. The program insists we have one. I have zero experience with film and just bought my Canon 7D last summer. I wasn't quite to my fundraising goal just yet. Most film cameras I had looked at were $500 or so, so I was just about ready to make peace that I would learn what I could with my digital camera and be ok with it. Then I spotted this $200 deal. Canon T2, with two lenses in nearly new condition. I was very skeptical, but I continued to research. User feedback on the seller were 100% positive, very detailed photos, very detailed description and a two week return policy. After some arguing with myself I decided that I was going to buy it! Using my PayPal account. I knew I didn't have any funds at the time in my PayPal account so I decided to begin the checkout process, answer questions, make a few clicks until I reached the last step of entering payment info so that I could transfer money from my bank account to my PayPal account. When I thought would be my last click the transaction completely processed and I was staring at a "Thank you for your purchase you will be sent a confirmation email shortly' notification on my screen. I was SO confused and scared. What just happened? Where did the money come from?! I had no idea where I charged that camera to.

So I asked around. Did some research. I am sure this is PayPal 101; you have to manually transfer money received from others through PayPal into your bank account. I never manually did anything with my PayPal account, I just assumed money received was automatically deposited into your account. WRONG. Basically, I had enough money sitting in my PayPal account since September to pay for my film camera, that I had no clue about!!! I was pumped for like twenty minutes. Then I thought this is too good to be true, but hey if it is a scam, it would almost be like I didn't lose any money right? Well everything turned out amazing! The lady I bought the camera from messaged me every day until the camera arrived on my doorstep in perfect condition. I told her what I needed the camera for and she told me that "God would bless me richly for what I am doing". Jesus talk to a complete stranger over eBay?! ok, LETS GOOOOO! =)

Moral of the story, sometimes I have issues, but you know God is just going to use those issues to show me a little more about him and to glorify himself! And I think I am more than ok with that. =)

So cool when God allows you to physically see your blessings!
