Well the castle is still crazy.
The days are ticking down until teams depart to our different locations. Most teams are scheduled to leave December 2nd or 3rd. A few teams are still waiting on finances, visas and transportation arrangements. My team is in the waiting process. The visa process has been a frustrating one and there are quite a few of us praying for finances and fundraising. If you look at it a certain way, it is a mess. But you know, God makes beautiful things out of our messes. I love seeing how He works every detail to fall into place in the perfect timing. I have every reason to believe that He will provide. Especially after the weekend adventure I experienced.
Friday night after we had a blast at our fundraising costume party a team of 8 of us road tripped over night to our friend’s hometown to put on a fundraising concert to help out with her finances. A week ago in the planning stages of this trip we had no money for transportation and no transportation besides the train, which would have been a nightmare with instruments. So we prayed. Friday night we left in a rented van and a full tank of gas. Through random envelopes left in our mailboxes we collected enough money to get where we needed to go! 2 Germans, 1 French friend, 1 Spaniard and 4 Americans… sounds like the start of a bad joke right? Haha it always blows my mind thinking about how we were all brought together for this season of our lives. Anyways, we made it safe and sound to our destination at 3am or so. It was my first time experiencing the Autobahn! I was half asleep, but I remember lights speeding by and random parts of broken conversations due to the language barriers haha. Our friend’s family had a table of jams, breads and fruit waiting for us for breakfast. It was glorious! We ate so much all weekend! After months of castle food, we were so so thankful!
The concert was Saturday night. It was such an honor to photograph my friends and completely bask in the ridiculous talent they have been blessed with in music and lyrics. They all performed original songs they wrote and have recorded. Before the concert we prayed that His love and radiance would completely shine through us and our talents and that He would provide in abundance. After the last song was played there was no doubt that our prayers were answered! Strangers came up to us wrapping us in their arms and tears in their eyes. Some were speechless. They said they couldn’t explain what it was, but there was something so different about the music and there was so much depth in it. That it really moved them. That we had so much joy and there was something different about us. All of our friends CD’s were bought and unexpectedly the live painting that was done during the performance was bought as well. It was a long and unbelievable night of talking after the concert.
Wow, it was so good! It is simple. We used our talent and did it to the best of our ability. We used art to express something that often can’t be measured by words. We were on stage and they were in the audience, but they were touched. It is such a beautiful thing. Such a powerful thing, when we give to our Father what is His and his spirit works through that!
Once we made it back to the house and counted up the donations. God provided near $1400 for our friends expenses. Enough for her flight for outreach and enough for gas back home!
The next morning we went back to the church for their Sunday service. I understood nothing of the German message, but I really enjoyed attempting to sing worship songs in German! We had a blast the entire trip! I love how close you get to people when Christ is the center of it.
So there is more. On the way home, everyone in that van was provided for enough to leave for outreach except for me and another American friend. During the trip $1,000 dollars were deposited in each of our accounts, provided by family and friends back home! Both completely unexpected! WOAHHH! Our God is a provider.
Our Father in heaven is more committed to His kingdom coming to this earth than we are. We are called to the nations and He will make a way!
P.S. I don’t have a definitive date of when I will be heading to Asia. Sometime soon haha. But when that time comes I will be taking a break from social networking. Which most likely includes this blog. So if you would like to stay in contact and receive updates please send me your email address at alliereyna1108@gmail.com =)
P.P.S. If you would like to contribute further financially please contact me for more information on how to do so!
